This month we have a number of items to bring to your attention, so we have put them all together in this August update!

Dog waste – Please bag it securely and bin it in any rubbish bin, it is allowed, and not just the red dog waste bins.

Litter – Encourage everyone around the village to pick up their litter and bin it!  There are 6 regular bins on the village green, plus 2 red dog waste bins – PLEASE USE THEM ALL!

Trees, hedges & shrubs Please cut back overhanging trees/hedges & shrubs to allow full unhindered use of footpaths.

Vandalism – Payment for repairs to equipment around the village comes from our Council Taxes.   CCTV cameras are being enhanced around the area of the village hall and the village green.  Please report anything untoward to the Parish Clerk at 01757 700970,  stevepeterstwpc@hotmail.co.uk  OR   the Police on 101  Thank you.

Progress on the village green – Most of the new equipment purchased from Section 106 funding has now been installed on the village green.  The refurbishment of the free-standing basket ball hoop is due shortly.  However, work will soon commence on the maintenance of the current shrub area by the side of the footpath close to the village hall and school boundaries.  This will be followed by work associated with the creation of a community garden on the Fox Lane side of the village green.  The Parish Council apologises for any inconvenience caused over these past couple of years by the various construction works in this area.

Temporary closure of Playground – This will be done to allow painting of worn playground equipment – date to be confirmed.

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND THAT OF OTHERS – Please be aware of various works in progress on and around the village green; observe any safety initiatives, and that CCTV cameras will be in operation.

Thank you.
