North Yorkshire Community Messaging is a free system that lets people register to receive community news in their neighbourhoods.
Already widely used by North Yorkshire Police, now Selby District Council and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have joined the community messaging system and will be using it to share key community events, news and updates.
The new service has been designed to allow people who live or work in the Selby district to get information when they want and how they want it.
You can tailor preferences for the type of the message you receive, your preferred way of receiving information and the locations that matter to you.
Topics include details about…
- Emergency incidents such as flooding
- Voting and election information
- Community news and events
- Any issues with key services such as bin collections
- Community meetings
- Housing issues
- Fly tipping incidents
NYCM want to raise awareness of the scheme and share information about how you can sign-up. It would be extremely useful if you could share the attached poster with any local contacts, including community and voluntary groups. More people using the service means that it’s more effective for everyone.
